About FastKeno

FastKeno game of chance with pre-defined winnings and played using a field of numbers from one (1) to eighty (80). Twenty (20) winning numbers are drawn every five (5) minutes, at regular pre-defined intervals during the day. FastKeno is made up of eleven (11) different game types:

  • Game Type 10 – ten (10) numbers are chosen, and a bet is placed on any 10 of the 20 numbers drawn.
  • Game Type 9 – nine (9) numbers are chosen, and a bet is placed on any 9 of the 20 numbers drawn.
  • Game Type 8 – eight (8) numbers are chosen, and a bet is placed on any 8 of the 20 numbers drawn.
  • Game Type 7 – seven (7) numbers are chosen, and a bet is placed on any 7 of the 20 numbers drawn.
  • Game Type 6 – six (6) numbers are chosen, and a bet is placed on any 6 of the 20 numbers drawn.
  • Game Type 5 – five (5) numbers are chosen, and a bet is placed on any 5 of the 20 numbers drawn.
  • Game Type 4 – four (4) numbers are chosen, and a bet is placed on any 4 of the 20 numbers drawn.
  • Game Type 3 – three (3) numbers are chosen, and a bet is placed on any 3 of the 20 numbers drawn.
  • Game Type 2 – two (2) numbers are chosen, and a bet is placed on any 2 of the 20 numbers drawn.
  • Game Type 1 – one (1) number is chosen, and a bet is placed on any 1 of the 20 numbers drawn.

The FastKeno game also consists of the HI & LO game type. The player may choose to place a bet on either twelve (12) or more of the twenty (20) numbers drawn falling within the range of 41 to 80 (HI) and/or within the range of 1-40 (LO).

How to fill in a FastKeno playslip

To play a simple column in FastKeno, the player should mark one (1) to ten (10) numbers (with an ‘X’) according to the type of game selected, in at least one (1) of the four (4) Boards of the playslip. Alternatively, the player may also choose the game type HI & LO.

  • The HI box is selected if the player predicts that 12 or more of the 20 numbers drawn, shall fall within the range of forty-one (41) to eighty (80), or
  • The LO box is selected if the player predicts that 12 or more of the 20 numbers drawn, shall fall within the range of one (1) to forty (40).

The player is allowed to play only one game type option per Simple Column. For the HI & LO Game Type, the player may either choose one option or both, however this combination creates two (2) columns.
For instance, if the game type ten (10) is selected, the player has to mark 10 numbers in the Numbers Area. If the game type 9 is selected, the player has to mark 9 numbers, and so on.

A Fully Expanded System entry is an alternative way of playing FastKeno, providing the player with more chances to win. A System entry allows the player to select more than the minimum required numbers for the respective Game Type, up to a maximum of ten (10) numbers, thus providing the player with more chances to win.

In addition to the above Systems option, the player also has the option to select more than one Game Type option. This is referred to as Multiple Systems.
This option allows the creation of various columns by choosing two (2) or more game type options, together with a maximum of ten (10) numbers but not less than the highest number selected in the Game Type Area.
For instance, in the below example, Game Type 4 and Game Type 6 is marked. This combination allows the player to select between six (6) and ten (10) numbers in the Numbers Area.

With the Quick Pick option, the terminal generates all of the numbers according to the game rules of the specific game type selected. For a simple column Quick Pick, the playslip should be filled in as follows:

  • Mark the QUICK PICK box.
  • Mark a game type from [1] to [10].
  • Choose a basic stake from; €0.50, €1.00, €2.00, €3.00, €4.00, €5.00, €10.00, €15.00, €20.00 and if preferred one or both boxes [x5] or [x10] to multiply the basic stake.

To play Systems with the Quick Pick option, the playslip should be filled in as follows:

  • Mark the QUICK PICK box.
  • Mark one game type from [1] to [9].
  • Mark one number in the Numbers Area which is greater than the game type number selected.
  • Choose a basic stake from; €0.50, €1.00, €2.00, €3.00, €4.00, €5.00, €10.00, €15.00, €20.00 and if preferred one or both boxes [x5] or [x10] to multiply the basic stake.

To play the HI and LO game type as a simple column, the player may either;

  • Mark the [HI] box if the player predicts that 12 or more of the 20 numbers drawn, shall fall within the range of forty-one (41) to eighty (80) or,
  • Mark the [LO] box if the player predicts that 12 or more of the 20 numbers drawn, shall fall within the range one (1) to forty (40).
    For the HI & LO Game Type, the player may also choose to select both the HI and LO. This will create a System play.

Different playing methods are allowed to be chosen by the player, on the same playslip.
The below example shows a simple column play in Playing Board A, Quick Pick in Playing Board B and Systems in Playing Board C.

The player is given the choice to participate with the same playslip in more than one draw by marking the relevant box/es in the ‘CONSECUTIVE DRAWS’ section. The playslip should be filled in as follows:

  • A number from two (2) to ten (10) should be marked on the playslip to increase the frequency of participation by two (2) and up to ten (10) draws.
  • The boxes [x2] and/or [x3] can be marked to further increase the number of consecutive draws to participate in.
  • The player can participate up to a maximum of sixty (60) consecutive draws.
  • The total cost must be paid when purchasing the ticket.

General information on FastKeno

What is FastKeno?

FastKeno is a game of chance with pre-defined winnings and played using a field from one (1) up to eighty (80). Twenty (20) numbers are drawn every five (5) minutes, at regular pre-defined intervals during the day, to determine ten (10) different winning combinations from Game Type 1 to 10 and the HI & LO Game Types.

FastKeno may be played at any one of National Lottery’s retail outlets around Malta and Gozo from Monday to Sunday during the allowed playing hours. A complete list of Points of Sales listed by locality may be found here.

You may play FastKeno up to 15 seconds before the draw. A FastKeno draw is held every 5 minutes, from Monday to Sunday.

A Simple Column in FastKeno is created by selecting your game type from Game Type 1 to 10, and the corresponding amount of numbers. An alternative to the Simple Column is Systems, (known also as a Combination Playslip). This option allows you to select more than the minimum amount of numbers but not more than twenty (20) in a single Playing Board, for each game type.
Example of a Simple Column: You may choose Game Type 6 and six (6) numbers from the Numbers Area.
Example of Systems: You may choose Game Type 6 and choose eight (8) numbers from the Numbers Area.

Multiple Systems allows you to mark two (2) or more numbers in the Game Type area. In the Numbers Area, you must select a maximum of ten (10) numbers but not less than the highest number select in the Game Type area.
Example: You may choose Game Type 2 and Game Type 7. This allows you to choose between seven and ten numbers in the Numbers Area.

With FastKeno you can choose to play Game Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10. You may select a Game Type and the corresponding amount of numbers. You may also choose to play HI & LO game type. You may either mark one or both of the below:

  • The [HI] box if you think that 12 or more of the 20 numbers drawn will fall within the range of 41 to 80.
  • The [LO] box, if you think that 12 or more of the 20 numbers drawn will fall within the range of 1 to 40.

The minimum stake that can be played in FastKeno in one (1) Playing Board is €0.50.

A playslip is a printed form which is used by the player to choose and fill in his/her gaming preferences and submit it to the Retailer in one of the National Lottery retail outlets.
The ticket is the receipt you will be given after purchasing your selections from our retail outlets. The ticket is the only legal receipt which shall be used to claim a prize if the ticket has winning columns.

The draws are held every five (5) minutes through a Random Number Generator system which is televised in all retail outlets through the National Lottery Central System. The draw is also transmitted live here . For each draw, the system randomly generates twenty (20) numbers between 1 and 80.

PLAYSLIP

Yes, you can play different game types on each Playing Board on the FastKeno playslip.
For example, on the same playslip you may play a simple column in Playing Board A, Quick Pick in Playing Board B and also mark a selection in the HI & LO game type section.

Each FastKeno playslip contains of four Playing Boards or Boards (A, B, C, D). In each of the Playing Boards, you must choose the game type, select the desired numbers, or mark the Quick Pick [QP] box if you would like the terminal to randomly select an amount of numbers and the stake amount. A Simple Column or Systems may be played in each Playing Board.

Quick Pick is an automatic number selection method where the terminal generates all of the numbers according to the game rules. For a Simple Column Quick Pick, mark the QUICK PICK [QP] box on any one of the four (4) boards, together with the preferred Game Type from 1 to 10. The system will randomly pick an amount of numbers equal to the Game Type number selected.
To play Systems with the Quick Pick option, mark the QUICK PICK [QP] box on any one of the four (4) boards, together with two more or more Game Types from one (1) to nine (9) and, in the Numbers Area, mark one number greater than the highest number selected in the Game Type Area, but not greater than ten (10).
For both of the above instances, you should also mark a stake amount.

With the same playslip you may participate in more than one draw with the same numbers. You may increase the frequency of participation by two (2) and up to ten (10) draws, by marking the respective box from two (2) to ten (10) within the ‘CONSECUTIVE DRAWS’ section. You may then additionally mark the boxes [x2] and/or [x3] to further increase the selected number of participation draws.
You may participate up to a maximum of sixty (60) consecutive draws.
Please note that the CONSECUTIVE DRAWS selection is valid for all Playing Boards of the playslip. The total cost of all the consecutive draws must be paid when purchasing the ticket.

The ‘VOID’ box within a particular Playing Board is marked if you would like to cancel one of the Playing Boards. If, for example, you cancel Playing Board A, the choices you marked in Playing Board B would still be valid.
TICKET

It is your entire responsibility to ensure that the selections printed on the ticket are correct as the ones selected. You have the possibility to cancel a ticket from a retailer, within 10 minutes from the time the ticket was issued, but not later than the cancel close time. You have a right to a refund of your stake.

National Lottery is not responsible for lost or stolen tickets. To claim a prize, you have to present the winning ticket. It is important to note that the lottery ticket, which is the only valid proof-of-purchase, is the thermal receipt which the retailer issues after payment is received.

In the case of damaged tickets where both the Barcode Number and QR code are unreadable or destroyed, you can still claim your prizes from the Head Office of National Lottery plc, with the relevant ticket, only IF the ticket contains ALL of the following:

  • CRC Number
  • Draw Date
  • Retailer Number
  • Terminal Number
  • Playslip Number
WINNINGS

To win in FastKeno, you have to match your selected numbers with the numbers drawn. The winning depends on the game type options, the amount of numbers selected and the stake amount.
The following is a table showing the corresponding winning amounts for each Game Type based on the stake amount:

The prizes for Game Type HI and LO are three (3) times the stake amount.
*The total amount for all prizes for Game Types 8, 9 and 10, is limited to €25,000, €50,000 and €100,000 respectively. In the case that there is more than one winner per draw for the mentioned Game Types, the prize is split between winners according to the number of simple columns participating in that Game Type.
The following examples are based on winnings for the first category of Game Type 10:

Example A:

If Player A plays Game Type [10] with a Stake of €0.50 and Player B plays Game Type [10] with a Stake of €1.00, the total number of basic columns (i.e. columns with the basic price of €0.50) created will be 3. If both their selections (all 10 numbers) are included in the numbers drawn, they will both be winners of the Top Category of Game Type [10]. In this case their winnings will be calculated as follows:

  • Winnings per basic column = 100,000/3 = €33,333
    • Player A’s Winnings = €33,333 x 1 basic columns = €33,333
    • Player B’s Winnings = €33,333 x 2 basic columns = €66,667

Example B:
If Player A plays Game Type [10] with a Stake of €2.00, the total number of basic columns (i.e. columns with the basic price of €0.50) created will be 4. If his selection (all 10 numbers) is included in the numbers drawn, the player will be a winner of the Top Category of Game Type [10]. In this case his winnings will be calculated as follows:

  • Winnings per basic column = 100,000/4 = €25,000
    • Player A’s Winnings = €25,000 x 4 basic columns = €100,000.

Example C:
If Player A plays Game Type [10] with a Stake of €2.00 and Player B plays Game Type [10] with a Stake of €1.00, the total number of basic columns (i.e. columns with the basic price of €0.50) created will be 6. If both their selections (all 10 numbers) are included in the numbers drawn, they will both be winners of the Top Category of Game Type [10]. In this case, as there are more than five winning columns, their winnings will be calculated as follows:

  • Winnings per basic column = 100,000 / 6 (no of basic columns) = €16,666.67
    • Player A’s Winnings = €16,666.67 x 4 basic columns = €66,666.67
    • Player B’s Winnings = €16,666.67 x 2 basic columns = €33,333.34

Winnings for the first category of Game Types 9 and 8 are calculated in the same way as shown in the above examples. This rule does not apply in the lower winning categories.
A winner of a particular draw in any category is precluded from claiming a prize in lower winning categories by virtue of the same column for the same Draw i.e. if you play Game Type 7 and match 5 of the numbers drawn, you will win the prize for the Category 5 from Game type 7, which will be equal to 15 (Payout) x Your Stake.

FastKeno will support a draw liability limit which shall be configured to a pre-defined amount. Once the liability limit has been reached, National Lottery plc shall reject any subsequent attempts to place FastKeno bets on that particular combination that would cause the draw liability to exceed the limit.

The printed ticket is the unique valid document for prize payment and only whoever presents the winning ticket may claim the prize. FastKeno prizes up to €6,000 are payable at any National Lottery retail outlets. Prizes over €6,000 are payable at the National Lottery plc Head Office against presentation of a valid and unexpired identification document. Winners have sixty (60) days from the respective draw date, to claim their prize/s.
The payment of a ticket that participates in consecutive draws and wins in more than one draw can be claimed as follows:

  • After the completion of each draw in which the ticket participates and wins, a payout ticket is printed at any retail outlet. The same is repeated for each of the next winning draws. The prizes can be claimed up to 60 days from the respective draw date.
  • If two or more prizes are won with the same ticket, the winner can claim all the prizes together within 60 days from the first draw date, or individually within 60 days from the date of each draw.

If you have a winning ticket, you can claim the prize within sixty (60) consecutive days from the respective draw date.

Any winner will not be able to claim his/her prize/s if:

  • The holder of the winning ticket is a minor or a prohibired ticket holder.
  • The ticket has been tampered with in any way.
  • Both the Barcode number and the QR code are unreadable or destroyed. In such circumstances, the players can still claim their prize from the Head Office of National Lottery if they present the actual ticket with the following data:
    • Draw Date
    • Retailer Number
    • Terminal Number
    • Playslip Number

The player must be aged 18 years or older to play and claim a prize.
